5 Days, 4 Nights Fully Accommodated Picking up enroute: Colac, Geelong, Melbourne etc.
DAY 1 (L, D)
Depart K F C Corner 7.30am Raglan Parade & Kepler Streets Warrnambool. Picking up enroute Colac Geelong Melbourne etc. Travel via Princess Highway to Morwell. Dinner Morwell Motel. DAY 2 (B,L,D)
Today we visit the "Rosary of Trefalgar" where we meet Ros, who has a large variety of home gifts, antiques, crafts & nursery situated on 10 acres of Beautiful garden walks with ducks on the lake. Complementary tea and coffee. We travel 5 mins along the Princess Highway to Criterion Hotel Trafalgar for the start of our Potato Tour. A delicious potato for lunch, with all the trimmings, wine, juice, a potato cooking demonstration. ie. Potato after dinner mints, by our local tour guide. (Sweets). Then we travel around Thorpdale, potato growing red volcanic soil hills, offering spectacular scenic views. Visit Val's large country garden where we meet the friendly farm animals and enjoy Val's speciality, Potato Ice-Cream (own expense $1.) Visit to Beautiful Narraca water-falls en route to Morwell. Dinner 6.00pm Morwell Hotel Motel (2 Courses) DAY 3 (B,L,D)
After breakfast we visit the Tarra Bulga National Park with it's Beautiful tree fern gully's water-falls. Visit National Park Visitors Centre. We enjoy an informative talk and video by Park Ranger before morning tea. We then walk to suspension bridge, through tree ferns & natural water-falls. Then lunch at Port Albert Hotel before we take in the sights of the water edge comprising of many boats and a Maritime Museum (Own expense optional) A short drive to Yarran Old Court House and Visitors Centre enroute to Loy Yang Power Station. Drive to Motel for Dinner at Morwell DAY 4 (B,L,D)
Morwell is known for it's beautiful Rose Gardens situated on 5 acres comprising of over 2,500 rose bushes. It's a community garden walk which will delight all Rose lovers, before we head to Walhalla the oldest of Gippslands Gold Towns Walhalla still retains much of its heritage, and attracts many visitors because of it's unique steep terrain and many beautiful walks (heritage listed.) Walhalla museum is a very worthwhile visit. Our tour guide Val Murphy will tell you the stories of our guided tour through Walhalla before serving a picnic lunch in the park. Walhalla has 15 permanent residents today, compared with 10,000 during the Gold Rush era. A stop-over visit Erica Hotel (Happy Hour) en route to Morwell. Dinner 6.00pm Morwell. Fun and surprise night at Morwell Motel, our last night together. DAY 5 (B,L,D)
Today we say good bye to our local Tour Guide and Hostess and the new friends we have met and
we depart for our journey back home to Warrnambool.
